Padel is one of the fastest-growing sports in the world — a dynamic mix of tennis and squash that’s easy to learn and incredibly fun to play. It’s typically played in doubles on an enclosed court surrounded by glass walls, which are part of the game. Players use solid, stringless rackets and a low-pressure ball similar to a tennis ball.
What makes padel unique is the use of the walls. After the ball bounces, it can rebound off the glass, creating longer rallies, exciting angles, and fast-paced exchanges that keep every point alive.

Padel is played in doubles on an enclosed court where the glass walls are part of the game. The serve is underhand and hit diagonally after one bounce, and during rallies the ball can rebound off the walls after bouncing on the ground. Scoring follows the traditional tennis system (15–30–40–game), and success comes from teamwork, smart positioning, and strategic use of angles rather than pure power.

No — at Northern Padel House, rackets are available to use free of charge. We simply ask that all players treat them with care and respect so everyone can enjoy quality equipment. If you have your own racket, feel free to bring it along, otherwise, we’ve got you covered. We also have a vending machine with tennis balls available.
